Material: Renthal use an exclusive aluminium alloy which has been specifically developed for the manufacture of handlebars, that are required to withstand the rigours of Supercross and Motocross racing. The material is a derivative of a European aerospace specification. It has very high mechanical properties without the disadvantage of poor impact strength which is often associated with high strength alloys. It is also light in weight and its properties help limit vibration which is a common cause of rider fatigue. Cross Brace: Renthal pioneered the light-weight single bolt mechanical clamping system for the cross-brace. As the pioneers of this technology we understand that for this system to work correctly it very important that all the components are made within very close tolerances and that the complete assembly is bonded together with a high shear - strength adhesive. The Renthal clamp system greatly increases the strength of the bar while still allowing flex and minimising the chance of clamp movement.

Surface finish and knurling: Our handlebars feature knurling on the left side of the handlebar which helps prevent the grip from slipping. However, the bar is not knurled in the centre as this could propagate a fatigue failure at the point of maximum stress. We also pay particular attention to ensure that the surface finish of the handlebars is both smooth and free from surface imperfections. This is not purely for cosmetic reasons. It is important to have a good surface finish as a poor and damaged surface acts as a starting point for metal fatigue.

Please note that silver Renthal Handlebars are clear anodised. Therefore, it is essential NOT to use metal polish as this WILL damage the finish.
